21st Century Community Learning Centers

Long Prairie-Grey Eagle School District has been awarded a 21st Century Community Learning Center grant. The award term is September 1, 2019-August 31, 2025.

The award supports the continuation of an existing 21st Community Learning Center that provides academic and enrichment opportunities during non-school hours (school-year and summer) for elementary and secondary students. The centers help students meet state and local standards in core academic subjects including reading, math, and science; offer students a broad array of high-quality enrichment activities that complement regular academic programs; and offer literacy and other educational services to the families of participating students. The centers also provide afterschool and summer school transportation and need-based scholarships for enrichment programs.

Program goals include increasing: academic achievement, school and community connectedness, and opportunities to develop and apply 21st-century skills.

This program is partially funded with a grant from the Minnesota Department of Education using federal funding, CFDA 84.287, 21st Century Community Learning Centers. This program does not represent the policy of, or assume endorsement by, the federal or state government.
